The pigment may then be further neutralized with ammonium sulphate to form ammonium hydroxide and calcium sulphate which are also retained. The initial reaction may be carried out in the presence of an inorganic dispersant, e.g. sodium tripolyphosphate. An organic dispersant, e.g. a polyacrylate, may be added thereafter prior to the addition of the acid or acid derivative. Stearic acid or stearin is preferred.</p> |
