<p>The nutritive substratum unit (12) is contained in a saucer-shaped container (10) with a lid (11). The nutritive substratum consists of a fibre mat (13) on the top of which is a layer of seeds (14), which is embedded in a material (15) which is soluble in water, preferably cellulose adhesive or such like, which is harmless to plants. The fibrous mats are packed when dry and placed in a saucer (10), after which the water is poured on, and the lid (11) placed on top. The water in the saucer dissolves or softens the layer (15)1/2. When the seeds, i.e. cress, have reached a height to lift off the lid (11), the seedlings are ready for use.</p> |
