Spot applicator for herbicides - uses spring loaded valve to release dose when applied to plant and to refill chamber from reservoir when removed

The applicator can dispense a measured dose of herbicide onto a single weed and comprises a tubular reservoir (1) with an enlarged upper portion. This is used for filling the reservoir and has a cap provided with air holes. Finger grips are moulded into the upper portion. The lower portion has a cone shaped end (9) with a similar extension (12) forming an inner compartment (11). A spring loaded valve (18, 21a) has a guide (21, 22) sliding in each coned portion. The applicator is applied to the plant. On pressing down, herbicide in the compartment is released as the valve moves upwards; the compartment refills as the applicator is removed.
