CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SPEED AND THRUST OF GROUND PRIMARY SYSTEM LINEAR MOTOR

PURPOSE:To provide a control system for speed and thrust that achieves stable proportional integral control on a ground primary system linear motor transport apparatus regardless of the constants of the linear motor and variations in car speed. CONSTITUTION:The control system incorporates a means for calculating inverter frequency command fs as a function of thrust F and car speed v for acceleration and deceleration, respectively. Thus, unlike conventional car speed control systems where no thrust/frequency calculation section is provided, in the to system the thrust command F of the output in proportional integral control is calculated in thrust/frequency calculation sections 8, 9. Therefore, thrust is not significantly varied due to variations in the constants K1-K5 of a linear motor or car speed v. In addition the entire speed control system is linearized and stable control is achieved.
