The subject of the invention relates to a vertebral boom used on a rib stall in the context of treatment in a gym in the field of re-education (rehabilitation) and physical training. It consists of a vertebral bearing zone (6) which is generally a portion of a half-cylinder which is a rigid structure padded with foam on its peripheral part (11). This bearing structure (6) has a width (L) which is limited so that when the user applies the rear face of his trunk it enters into contact only with his spine. This bearing structure (6) is fixed to the centre of a planar support strip (7) either directly on the support strip (7) or at the end of a bar (13) interposed between the planar support strip (7) and the bearing structure (6) when it is desired to limber up the upper limbs. This planar support strip (7) is set back so as to permit backward movement of the upper limbs and of the side portions of the trunk, it is provided with two hooks (8) and (9) located at its ends for fastening the assembly to a rib stall. <IMAGE>
