PURPOSE:To control the flow rate of a molten metal with high accuracy by providing a transfer means which transfers the molten metal in a holding furnace to a holding vessel via the 1st flow passage and providing the 2nd flow passage which returns the molten metal overflowing through the return port of the holding vessel to the holding furnace. CONSTITUTION:The 1st flow passage R1 is formed between the tap hole 13a of a holding furnace 13 for storing a molten metal 2 and the receiving port 14a of a holding vessel 14 into which the molten metal 2 in the furnace 13 is transferred and an electromagnetic spout 18 for transferring the molten metal 2 in the furnace 13 via the passage R1 to the vessel 14 is provided in an automatic pouring device provided with the furnace 13 and the vessel 14. A flow passage R2 for returning the molten metal 2 overflowing from the return port 14b of the vessel 14 to the passage R1 or the furnace 13 is provided to maintain always constant the molten metal surface 2a in the vessel 14. The flow rate of the molten metal to be poured from the pouring device is thus controlled by the simple and inexpensive constitution with high accuracy.
