PURPOSE:To produce an Al plated steel sheet having excellent thermal durability and resistance to high-temp. oxidation by coiling a specifically composed steel contg. C, Ti, P, B and Fe at a low temp. in the stage of hot rolling then subjecting the steel sheet to cold rolling, recrystallization annealing and Al plating. CONSTITUTION:A steel slab contg. <0.02% C, 0.03-0.4% Ti, 0.045-0.2% P, 2- 100ppm B and the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities is coiled at <=650 deg.C in the stage of hot rolling and is then subjected to recrystallization annealing by continuous type annealing after cold rolling by which the slab is made into a steel sheet. Such plate is subjected to Al plating and the Al plated steel sheet having excellent workability, thermal durability and resistance to high temp. oxidation is obtd. Ti is added to said steel sheet to improve the oxidation resistance and C is decreased to suppress the formation of TiC. An AlP compd. is formed by Al and P to prevent alloying of Al and Fe by which the thermal durability is improved and further the embrittlement by segregation of P is prevented by B. The coiling temp. is specified at <=650 deg.C to obtain good workability.
