An axle suspension for motor vehicles is proposed, the rigid axle of which, supported by way of non-guiding springs and in the case of compression movements is displaceable in the interests of a positive cant suspension, is guided on the vehicle body so that it is free of transverse misalignment under the influence of lateral forces, and in which the assignment of the instantaneous centre to the road surface plane remains approximately constant, regardless of unilateral or alternating spring movement and load. This is achieved in that the control arms determining the instantaneous centre (rolling pole) lie in a vehicle transverse plane and converge towards the rigid axle, and in that the control arms are pivotably mounted movable in height with the rigid axle and with their body pivot point on a base arranged movable in height with the rigid axle, which base in a vehicle transverse direction is fixed in relation to the body but is movable in a plane running in the vehicle longitudinal direction.
