PURPOSE:To multi-layer suppository which is readily inserted into the anus, dose not make fingers dirty during insertion and yet has improved releasability of medicinal component, obtained by using bases having different melting points for a tip part and a base part of suppository and further blending only the tip part with a medicinal component. CONSTITUTION:A multi-layer suppository consists of a tip part of suppository consisting of a base having 30-35 deg.C melting point which is <=1 deg.C lower than melting point of a base part and the base part consisting of a base having 35-35 deg.C melting point. In adjustment of the melting point, one kind of a substance in a range of the melting point is used or two or more substances (e.g., Mactogol 600, Mactogol 100, etc.,) are combined and used. Since the melting point of the tip part of suppository is 30-35 deg.C and lower than temperature in the rectum, the tip part is rapidly melted in the rectum. On the other hand, since the base part of suppository is not readily melted even by grasping it with fingers, there is no fear of making fingers dirty and the supporsitory has improved feeling in use.
