TREATING AGENT FOR PITCH-BASED CARBON YARN AND PRODUCTION OF PITCH-BASED CARBON YARN USING SAID TREATING AGENT

PURPOSE:To obtain the title treating agent preventing pitch-based carbon yarn from bonding to itself and fusing in producing the pitch-based carbon yarn, comprising a silicone oil having specific viscosity, an aliphatic amine polyethylene condensate and water. CONSTITUTION:The aimed treating agent which is used for a process of pitch- based carbon yarn and obtained by dispersing a silicone oil such as methylphenylpolysiloxane having 2-10,000cst viscosity at 25 deg.C into water through a surfactant of an aliphatic amine polyethylene glycol condensate shown by the formula (R1 is 8-18C alkyl; n is 1-100 on the average). The amount of the aliphatic amine polyethylene glycol condensate based on the silicone oil is preferably 0.1-20wt.%.
