<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a golf club holding softness and excellent repulsion without including any noxious substances by using for its head a copper alloy containing a specified amount of nickel and silicon and the remaining copper and inevitable impurities. CONSTITUTION:A copper alloy constituting a golf club is of a precipitation hardening type. It uses a material containing no noxious components such as beryllium and having satisfactory cast molding property and elastic modulus approximately the same as that of beryllium copper. As a reinforcing mechanism a copper alloy having a precipitation hardening mechanism similar to the beryllium copper is used. For a particular component system a copper alloy of Cu-Ni- Si system or Cu-Ni-Si-Zn system is used. Thus, in casting, no noxious fume like beryllium oxide is generated and the fluidity of molten metal in casting is preferable. The shooting of a ball is easily controlled to obtain the club head excellent in repulsion.</p> |
