<p>PURPOSE:To miniaturize a magnetic tape moving device and to allow the adjustment of tension to be optimum by driving a tension arm with a linear motor, providing plural position detecting elements and setting the position of the tension arm in correspondence to the information of tape thickness. CONSTITUTION:By a detecting switch, out of position detecting elements 34, 36 and 38, the position detecting element 36, for in a position, where the tension of a mounted magnetic tape 10 is balanced, is conducted and when the tension of the magnetic tape 10 becomes larger than a setting value during traveling, the sliding of a tension arm 16 is detected by the position detecting element 36. Then, a control circuit increases a current to flow to a coil 33. When the tension becomes smaller than the setting value, the displacement information of a permanent magnet 37 fixed to a lever 15 are sent to the control circuit by the position detecting element 36 and the current making flow to the coil 33 is decreased. Then, the tension of the magnetic tape 10 is controlled so as to be within the setting value. Thus, the driving mechanism of the tension arm 16 is simplified and the optimum tension can be obtained in correspondence to the thickness of the mounted magnetic tape 10.</p> |
