PURPOSE: To provide a remarkably compact low-pressure discharge lamp by perfectly housing an electronic circuit for converting a low frequency of a distribution network to a high frequency in a standard base. CONSTITUTION: A lamp 5 is a low-pressure discharge tube having branch parts 6, 7 continuously formed through a narrow part 8, and each lower part of the branch parts 6, 7 is led into an intermediate member 9 for sealing. A metal shell 11 having a screw part and a standard base 10 having a center electrode 12 are fastened to the intermediate member 9. The base 10 is fastened to a standard socket so as to be connected to a distribution network. An electronic circuit 32 is perfectly housed in the base 10, and the frequency at 50 Hz or 60 Hz of the distribution network for driving a discharge tube is converted to a high frequency. The circuit 32 is integrated with a disc-like printed board 30. With this structure, a remarkably compact lighting lamp can be formed. |
