<p>PURPOSE:To enable independent control over a transfer torque as well as to enlarge the degree of control freedom by determining a desired orifice opening in operating the set desired transfer torque, and operating an actuator so as to make this opening securable. CONSTITUTION:A speed difference sensitive type joint 20, generating a transfer torque which restricts any differential motion between a left drive shaft 15 and a right drive shaft 16, is built in a rear differential 1. This joint 20 is provided with an orifice opening change mechanism 110 operating by means of a control command from the outside. Orifice opening is determined by the stroke position of a spool 120 being moved by a motor actuator 180 of this mechanism 110. A desired orifice opening is secured by a table being preset from a relative speed difference between both these drive shafts 15 and 16 the desired transfer torque and controlled. With this constitution, at the initial stage of generation of a relative rotation, the transfer torque is made to rise suddenly, through which such control as keeping the transfer torque constant can be done to a variation in the relative speed difference afterward.</p> |
