In order to provide a self-supporting sliding door for entrances, having a longitudinally displaceable door leaf and a guide device which is arranged in a stationary manner next to the door through-passage and has two sets of rollers which are spaced apart from one another in the running direction of the sliding door and interact with a bottom guide rail of the sliding door, which door is extremely cost-effective to erect and has a high degree of operational reliability, it is proposed that the bottom guide rail be formed by a bottom frame profile of the door leaf, that the frame profile (6) be designed in cross-section as a polygon which has a face or edge (8) supported on a roller (7) arranged beneath the frame profile (6) and also has two oblique faces (9) which adjoin the edge (8) or face and are guided laterally on guide faces of the roller (7), that the roller (7) be designed as a double-cone roller with horizontal axis of rotation, and that provision be made for two supporting rollers (10) which are supported on both sides of the longitudinal centre of the frame profile (6), on top guide faces (11) of the same.
