PURPOSE:To excite and oscillate high melting point metal vapor laser by producing metal vapor by evaporating high melting point metal and exciting metal atoms by irradiating the metal vapor with excimer laser light. CONSTITUTION:Laser devices 2, 3 are oscillated by a trigger signal which is also fed to a vapor production laser device 2. The trigger signal is further delayed by a delay circuit 12 and is fed to an optical pumping laser device 3. YAG laser light from the laser device 2 is converged by a condenser lens 13 with which a vanadium plate 4 is then irradiated. XeCl excimer laser light from the optical excitation laser device 3 is introduced into a vapor chamber 1 to optically pump vaporized vanadium atoms. Electrons in the vanadium atoms are excited from a ground level E1 to an excitation level E2. Further, when a transition of the excited electrons occur excited from the excitation level E2 to a meta-stable level E3, purple-colored vanadium laser light is induced through resonance. |
