PURPOSE:To realize an ink container generating no ink leakage regardless of the change of circumferential environment or the posture thereof at the time of use and enhanced in its ink storage rate. CONSTITUTION:A plate-shaped porous body 3 composed of polyurethane foam is arranged on the bottom wall 1a of a container main body 1 and the container main body 1 is partitioned into six chambers by five partition plates 2a-2e excepting the part of the porous body 3. A recording head 5 is attached to the outer surface of the front wall 1b having a discharge port 1d formed thereto of the container main body 1 and an emitting orifice 5a of the head 5 communicates with the discharge port 1d. An atmosphere communication hole 4 is opened to the space part of a first chamber 6a and the porous body 3 is arranged up to the vicinity of the discharge port 1d. Further, the respective chambers are allowed to communicate with each other by the extension part of the porous body 3.
