PURPOSE:To provide a fluoroalkane mixture composed of difluoromethane and octafluoropropane and useful as a refrigerant, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective mixture is produced by mixing 5-95mol% (preferably 70-73mol%) of difluoromethane and 95-5mol% (preferably 30-27mol%) of octafluoropropane and, as necessary, other compounds such as stabilizer, ether and amine. The obtained mixture is easily decomposable and free from chlorine having influence on ozonosphere and, accordingly, there is no danger of ozonosphere destruction problem. The mixture has high refrigeration capacity and high coefficient of performance. It has low solubility to polymeric compound, excellent compatibility to polyalkylene oil, polyester oil, etc., and excellent thermal stability. It is useful as a propellant, foaming agent, working fluid, etc., as well as refrigerant. |
