The objective of the invention is to well transmit a content constituted by files. A transport stream is transmitted to a reception side via a predetermined transport path. In this transport stream, a first transport packet, which includes transport media, has been time-divisionally multiplexed with a second transport packet including information related to the transport media. If the transport media included in the first transport packet are divisional data of the files constituting a predetermined content, identification information for identifying the divisional data included in the first transport packet is inserted into the first and second transport packets. |
