PURPOSE:To provide a rolling method for adjusting excess metal having the amount of excess metal corresponding to the amount of widening, method and device line for widening a web with which necking is reduced as a method for freely separately manufacturing the web height of shapes having flanges especially a wide flange shape. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate universal mill RU in which notched parts having the area of necessary and minimum excess metal that is determined from the target amount of widening of the web height and web thickness of a product are provided and an oblique roll type rolling mill SS1 are used. In the case of not executing widening, the excess metal which is formed by each rolling pass in the RU is rolled down and vanished with the SS1 the oblique angle of roll of which is made zero degree. In the case of executing the maximum widening, after forming the excess metal with the RU without using the SS1, the widening of a 1st stage is executed with the SS1 whose rolls are set in prescribed positions. In the case of intermediate widening, after adjustment rolling to a prescribed cross-sectional area of excess metal with the RU and SS1, the widening of the 1st stage is executed with the SS1 whose rolls are set in the prescribed positions. And, by moving the vertical rolls of the RU on the outlet side of rolling or on the inlet side of rolling, the adjustment of metal flow from flange to the web is jointly used. |
