PURPOSE:To industrially and more efficiently produce L-threonine useful as a medicine, a food, a feed, etc., at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism, belonging to the genus Methylobacillus and having the resistance to at least one selected from L-leucine, L-leucine analogs, L-isoleucine and L-isoleucine analogs and the ability to produce L-threonine is cultured in a culture medium containing methanol as a main carbon source to produce and accumulate the L-threonine in the resultant culture. The L- threonine is then collected from the culture. |
