PURPOSE:To make discharge openings recover from defective discharge assuredly in a short time. CONSTITUTION:In a discharge recovery device, ink is made to flow from only those selected discharge openings among a plurality of discharge openings on a record head 1. An abutting member 201 having a plurality of openings in the arranging direction of the discharge openings, consisting of an elastic body whose one part or the whole is abutting against the discharge opening face of a record head 1, is provided. Partial suction means (made of 202, 203, 204) which sucks the ink through the abutting member 201 from only those selected parts among the discharge openings is provided. Also, there is provided a moving abutting means 205 for abutting the partial suction means 202-204 against the opening opposite to the abutting face of the abutting member 201 and for moving them by rubbing in the arranging direction of the discharge openings. |
