PURPOSE:To provide the title composition which can give an expanded molding improved in flame retardancy and mold release by mixing a thermoplastic resin with a phenyl-containing polysiloxane, a bromine-containing flame retardant and a foaming agent. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin such as a styrene resin is mixed with 0.005-5 pts.wt. (in the case when the resultant mixture is melt-kneaded) or 0.005-0.5 pt.wt. (in the case when the mixture is not melt-kneaded) polysiioxane having a molecular weight of about 500-10000 and containing Si- bonded substituents 10-70mol% of which are phenyl groups, 0.1-5 pts.wt. brominated aliphatic hydrocarbon flame retardant such as hexdodecane and 1-20 pts.wt. aliphatic hydrocarbon foaming agent such as butane. The obtained compounded resin particles are pre-expanded, packed into a mold and heated to obtain an expanded molding. This molding has good mold release, appearance and markedly improved flame retardancy. |
