PURPOSE:To obtain a reel base driving device capable of surely winding a magnetic tape and also enhancing a high-speed scanning performance. CONSTITUTION:An oscillating gear device 2 and a reel motor 46 other than a capstan motor installed on a fixed chassis side are mounted on a movable chassis 5 with the reel base mounted, and a power is supplied to the reel motor 46 by bending a flexible wiring board 57 along a movable chassis moving direction J. The reel base can be driven by operating the reel motor 46 even when the movable chassis 5 is moving, so that the biting angle of an idler 4 is not varied.
