PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve picture luminance without increasing power consumption especially at the time of outdoor usage concerning a back light for panel with which a transmissive or semitransmissive type display panel is irradiated from the back. SOLUTION: Concerning this system, one side of light transmission plate 1 composed of light transmissive materials is covered with a reflection plate 2, a light diffusion plate 3 is arranged on the other side at least, a linear light source 4 and a reflector 5 for reflecting light from that light source and guiding it to the light transmission plate 1 are provided, the reflection plate 2 is fixed on a 1st cover 12, the light transmission plate 1, light diffusion plate 3 and liquid crystal panel 11 are fixed on a 2nd cover 13, and the 1st cover 12 and 2nd cover 13 can be mutually rotated by a supporting point shaft 14. Especially when using this system outdoors, external light 17 is reflected on the reflection plate 2 and fetched into the light transmission plate 1 in addition to the quantity of light from the linear light source 4 so that the luminance of liquid crystal panel 11 can be improved without increasing power consumption. |
