<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a toner having enough fixing property at low temp. which satisfies performances required for a toner such as offset resistance, developing property and storage property without requiring a special reaction device or complicated operation. SOLUTION: Toner mother particles and polymer fine particles are mixed in a water-based medium to deposit the polymer fine particles on the surface of the mother particles. The polymer fine particles depositing on the mother particles are made to absorb polymerizable monomers and the polymerizable monomers are polymerized by adding a polymn. initiator to form a polymer coating layer. The process to deposit the polymer fine particles on the mother particles is carried out by preparing the polymer fine particles by emulsion polymn. by using an emulsifier containing a nonion surfactant, then mixing the polymer fine particles with mother particles and heating the mixture to a temp. higher than the clouding point of the nonion surfactant, or preferably, higher than the glass transition temp. of the polymer fine particles.</p> |
