The control part(26) which acknowledges that the ring is incoming by the ring detect signal automatically answers the call by 'hook-off' the telephone line. The control part(26) outputs the automatic answering control signal and the audio synthesis part(29) outputs the automatic answering message data that is stored in the data storing part(27) by audio synthesis. The control part(26) which delivers the automatic answering message checks if the digital tone is inputted by reading the output of the tone signal detect part(18) and when the digital tone is inputted, checks if the inputted digital tone is the telephone's initial code. If the digital signal that outputs from the tone signal detect part(18) is the telephone initial code that informs the beginning of the telephone dialing, then the control part(26) stops the automatic answering message delivery by controling the audio message magnetic recording medium inside the recorder(20) by using audio synthesis.
