A weight(3) and a spring(2) unit mounted on the roof(1) of a vehicle hits the vertical lever(4) on collision to initiate rotational motion of the lever(4) about a pin(5). The latch(4a) formed on the end of the lever(4) unlocks an arm(6) on the motion of the lever(4). The arm(6) which has a certain amount of flexibility rotates about a hinge(8) either by its weight or by spring force. The arm(6) has cushion(7) at its end which makes direct contact with the shoulders of a passenger to prevent forward motion and to absorbs momentum by a collision.
