<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fluidity and characteristics against environments of toner particles, to uniformly and stably electrify and to cope with a small-sized machine with the toner by preparing org. -inorg. composite particles by vapor phase synthesis by silent discharge of an org. silicon compd. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic toner is produced by kneading at least a coloring agent and a binder resin, pulverizing the mixture and externally adding fine particles, and the fine particles consist of org. -inorg. composite particles prepared by vapor phase synthesis by silent discharge of an org. silicon compd. The vapor phase chemical synthesis by silent discharge is carried out by feeding gas such as H2 , O2 , H2 O or an inert gas such as Ar at a specified flow rate into a reaction tube to surround an org. silicon compd. and causing to oxidize and hydrolyze in a vapor phase. By this method, the org. silicon compd. forms a network by siloxane bonds and changes into fine particles. The fine particles are org. -inorg. composite particles the surface and inside of which contain aggregation of org. groups derived from the original org. silicon compd. and an amorphous siloxane skeleton structure.</p> |
