The torque converter has generator rotors (G1,G2) positioned on a drive input shaft coaxial to a generator armature (N2) combined with a motor armature (M3) mounted on a drive output shaft and provided with a short-circuit winding lying in the magnetic field of the drive rotor and the stator supported by the torque converter housing. The stator magnetic field is provided by an electromagnet supplied with an induced voltage of variable intensity.
