An ultrasonic video apparatus comprising a depth range setter (28) for setting the threshold value of the detection level of a Doppler signal in an ultrasonic circuit (2), a unit for extracting the level of the Doppler signal and the time for which the Doppler signal is above the detection level, and an ROI depth data generator (29) provided to an adaptive phase controller (3) and adapted for determining the depth range of an ROI by phasing the echo signals between near-by channels, wherein the echo signals from the region where the intensity of the Doppler signal reaches the detection level or from around this region are phased between near-by oscillator elements, and consequently the focal point can follow the ROI in the subject.
