DECISION FEEDBACK EQUALIZER FOR RECEIVER

PURPOSE: A decis ion feedback equalizer for a receiver is provided to generate an error signal by reflecting not only the difference of a training signal and an equalizer's output and but also the difference of the training signal and a decis ion unit's output value when generating the error signal reflected to a tap coefficient renewal formula by an LMS(least mean-squared error algorithm). CONSTITUTION: A decis ion feedback equalizer for a receiver includes a positive feedback filter(101), a negative feedback filter(102), an adder(103), a decis ion unit(104), a first subtracter(105), a second subtracter(106), and an error detecting portion(109). The positive feedback filter deletes a pre-ghost by generating tap signals reflecting an error signal by receiving an equalizing input signal. The negative feedback filter deletes a post-ghost by generating the tap signals reflecting by receiving a decis ion unit's output signal. The adder sums tap signals output from the positive feedback filter and the negative feedback filter. The decis ion unit decides the equalizer's output of the adder. The first subtracter calculates the difference of the training signal and the decis ion unit's output. The second subtracter calculates the difference of the training signal and the equalizer's output. The error detector generates an error signal in which the noise is suppressed by receiving the differences of the first and the second subtracters.
