A valve closure system (10) for rotating an actuator (52) of a valve (12) relative to a body (46) of the valve to operate the valve from open to close d. The system contains a motor (14) having a rotatable shaft (82), a mounting that comprises plural parts including a bracket (22), for associating the motor with the valve, and a coupling (16, 18) for coupling the motor shaft t o the valve. The bracket comprises a plate having a surface defining a notch (64) that has an entrance at a perimeter of the plate and a shape enabling t he plate to associate with the valve body by disposing the plate alongside the valve body with the notch entrance aligned with the valve body and then movi ng the plate laterally of the valve actuator axis (54) to cause of the valve bo dy to pass through the notch entrance and enter the notch.
