<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CATV system capable of efficiently supplying power to a plurality of optical nodes and to provide a connection apparatus used for the CATV system. <P>SOLUTION: The CATV system 1A being of an optical/coaxial hybrid type includes: a first and a second optical nodes 11A, 11B connected to a head end 3 via an optical transmission line 9 and connected to a first and a second subscriber's houses 5A, 5B via a first and a second coaxial cables 19A; a power supply unit 25 connected to the first optical node 11A and supplying power; and the connection apparatus to which the first and the second coaxial cables, the first and the second optical nodes convert an optical signal from the optical transmission line into an electric signal and output the electric signal to the coaxial cables, convert the electric signal from the coaxial cables into an optical signal and output it to the optical transmission line, the first optical node outputs a part of the power supplied from the power supply unit to the first coaxial cable, and the connection apparatus selectively outputs the power received from the first coaxial cable to the second coaxial cable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
