PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee restrictive device for a vehicle including a load distribution plate to be brought into direct contact with knees of an occupant, and a driving means to move the load distribution plate from the starting position to the knees in the restricted condition. SOLUTION: A dashboard 5 is provided with a spring 19 to return a load distribution plate 3 from the restricting position to the starting position, and a retraction means comprising an elastic plastic trap or an elastic tube. In addition, retraction means reduces the danger on an occupant when a secondary shock is applied by rapidly retract the load distribution plate 3 by an energy source using a compressed gas or a spring.
