PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarity display device with high stability and high reliability, capable of preventing the coming off of a polarity displaying opening type ring fit to a post terminal seat of a battery. SOLUTION: An electrode pole terminal seat 5 projecting from the upper surface of a battery can cover 2 is formed in an invertedly tapered shape whose outer diameter gradually reducing from the top end toward the bottom end so that the outer circumferential surface 5a forms a downwardly sloped surface. When a polarity displaying opening type ring G is fit to the outer circumferential surface 5a of the electrode pole terminal seat 5 having the invertedly tapered shape, the polarity displaying opening type ring G is engaged with the downward sloped surface 5a, the upward move of the ring G is restricted with the downwardly sloped surface 5a, and the coming off of the ring G from the electrode pole terminal seat 5 is surely prevented.
