PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To copy and store a picture of a storage medium storing the picture acquired by a digital still camera or the like without a personal computer or the like in a simple operation, to automatically apply power to an external device as a user interface and to provide an environment providing excellent operability. SOLUTION: When a PC card 9 storing image information is loaded to a PC card insertion port 2, main power of an information file copying device 1 is applied and also the power is applied to a television receiver 16 acting like a user interface. Then a picture in the PC card is copied to a magneto- optical MO disk 8 inserted to a copy destination information medium insertion port. The television receiver 16 displays an operation menu in this case.
