PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly and surely exhibit the function of a reel lock mechanism. SOLUTION: This reel lock mechanism is provided with a reel lock main body 16, which has an operation surface 19d and is supported freely movably at a cassette shell 2, reel lock members 17, 17 which are freely rotatably supported at supporting shafts 12, 12, which are disposed on the cassette shell in the direction so as to be parted from tape reels 4, 4 and have locking parts 22, 22 which lock spring pressing parts 24, 24 and the tape reels, and operating parts 23, 23, which are brought into contact with the operation surface of the reel lock body, and an energizing spring 18 which has elastic contact parts 28, 28, which are brought into elastic contact with parts 25, 25 to be supported, which are supported at the supporting shafts and the locking parts of the reel lock members and parts 27, 27 to be pressed which are pressed by the spring pressing parts of the reel lock members, and energizes the reel lock members in the direction of locking the tape reel.
