PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound having lipoxygenase inhibiting activity and a method for producing the compound. SOLUTION: This dihydroxycurcumin derivative has the general formula I (R1 is H or a 1-6C alkoxy). The method for producing the dihydroxycurcumin derivative comprises culturing a callus obtained by plant culture of a plant belonging to the genus Curcume by using a culture medium prepared by including auxins, deriving a production of the compound represented by the general formula I via an infinite organization and then serially extracting by ethyl acetate, methanol and an acid acetonitrile aqueous solution. The method for producing the dihydroxycurcumin derivative may comprise carrying out catalytic reduction of desmethoxycurcumin, etc., by using Pd/C. |
