PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ti-Cr-Mn based hydrogen storage alloy in which natural oxidation in the air is suppressed and which has a high hydrogen storage content, and to provide a hydrogen storage material. SOLUTION: The Ti-Cr-Mn based hydrogen storage alloy is expressed by the compositional formula of Ti<SB>x</SB>Cr<SB>2-y</SB>Mn<SB>y</SB>(1.2<x<1.5, and 0.2<y<0.8), and consists of a Laves phase having a hexagonal C14 type crystal structure.
