PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an insulation type DC-DC converter of a small size and a high efficiency in good reliability. SOLUTION: A dc voltage from a dc voltage supply is alternately turned on/off for each equal period by a predetermined switching frequency by FETs as a high side switch and a low side switch connected in series with the dc voltage from the dc voltage source, and then supplied to the primary side of a transformer. And, a dc voltage insulated from the primary side is obtained by rectifying/smoothing the ac voltage induced in the secondary side of this transformer. Moreover, at the on/off switching timing of the FETs as the high side switch and the low side switch, a dead time in which these FETs together become off is provided so that the voltage between the drain and the source of the FET crosses zero in this dead time, and a zero voltage switching which does not generate the switching loss is performed.
