PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a tracking coil and a focusing coil in a way as to prevent both from overlapping on each other so that a magnetic gap can be narrowed by employing a configuration to wind the tracking coil directly on the lens holder in an objective lens driving apparatus, where the focusing coil wound to align the central axis of winding in a direction orthogonal to the tracking direction and focusing direction, is mounted on the lens holder. SOLUTION: The lens holder is constituted by coupling an upper piece 7 and a lower piece 8, a first bobbin section to wind the tracking coil 12 is disposed in one of the upper piece 7 and the lower piece 8, and a second bobbin section to wind the focusing coil is disposed in the other of the upper piece 7 and the lower piece 8. As a result, the tracking coils and the focusing coils are wound respectively directly on the respective pieces 7 and 8 of the lens holder, and thereafter, the respective pieces are coupled and constitute the lens holder.
