A docking station with a battery charging function and a controlling method of battery charging are provided to charge a secondary battery without a notebook system and to charge more than two batteries at once. A docking station with a battery charging function includes a charging controlling circuit(34), and a battery(10,20). The charging controlling circuit responds to the connection of a power adapter, and provides a charging voltage to a docking battery connector(18) installed in the docking station. The battery has a charging terminal and is charged by the output of the power adapter when the docking battery connector of the docking station is connected.
