The process involves sampling a heat engine's (1) e.g. diesel engine, exhaust gas between a catalyzer (9) and a particle filter or between two particle filters. Inlet gas is supercharged and recirculation gases are sampled on the pipe downstream a turbocompressor and reintroduced into an engine inlet pipe (4) upstream a compressor (7) driven by a turbine (11). An independent claim is also included for a circuit for the recirculation of gas sampled from a heat engine exhaust downstream a turbocompressor turbine.
