PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system capable of capturing a clear image according to the brightness of the subject flexibly, and a sharp image having a brightness suitable for the subject even if the subject is different. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope system has at least one electronic endoscope comprising an objective optical system, a plurality of imaging elements, and a light flux branching means at the tip of the flexible tube, and a processor comprising a threshold deciding means for connecting the electronic endoscope alternatively and deciding necessary threshold for generating images from the specification of connected electrode, an image processing means which keeps on issuing the processing signal corresponding to the image with processed brightness based on a first voltage signal until the first voltage signal level reaches the threshold, and the processing signal is formed from a second voltage signal when the first voltage signal level is above the threshold.
