The method involves placing a pumpable load such as alternative fuel or additive, under over-atmospheric pressure. The pumpable load is introduced via a discharge nozzle under interposition of a check valve (7). A pressure generator, that is in form of a pump, pressure storage (5) and/or a pressure generator, is connected with a conveyor line for the pumpable charge. The conveyor line for the pumpable charge is connected with an inlet nozzle in a region of an opening (8) of a mantel of a rotary kiln (10), under interposition of a controllable locking element. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for introducing of a pumpable load.
