The organic electroluminescent display device and manufacturing method thereof are provided to extend the lifetime of the display device by using a material of the hygroscopic property. The first substrate(100) comprises the pixel region and non-pixel region. The non-pixel region surrounds the pixel region. A plurality of organic light-emitting devices is formed in the pixel region of the first substrate. The second substrate(400) is faced with the first substrate. The first and the second substrate are boned each other with the sealing material. The sealing material(430) seals the pixel region. The spacer(350) is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The spacer is arranged in the non-emitting area between the adjacent pixels. The spacer comprises the hygroscopic agent.
