摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective liquid crystal display element having a high picture quality, a high contrast, and a high brightness by suppressing the occurrence of disclination caused by an electric field in the lateral direction occurring between neighboring pixel electrodes. SOLUTION: The reflective liquid crystal display element is equipped with: a reflection electrode substrate 110 having a plurality of reflective pixel electrodes 111; a transparent substrate having a transparent electrode placed so as to be opposite to the pixel electrodes 111; and a vertical alignment liquid crystal held between the reflection electrode substrate and the transparent substrate. In ridge lines formed by a surface 113 and side faces 115 of the pixel electrode 111, a ridge line 117 of the pixel electrode 111, placed on a pretilt direction X of the vertical alignment liquid crystal, has a slope 116.
