PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve smooth rotation drive and to reduce the space of a rotation drive mechanism, even in the case of a lens barrel to which an accessory lens is attached and a big heavy lens barrel. SOLUTION: A lens barrel rotation drive mechanism includes a tilt motor 51 exerting driving force for rotating a lens barrel 40 and a first step pulley 54, a second step pulley 55 and a third step pulley 56, which are for transmitting the driving force in parallel, while reducing the rotation speed of the tilt motor 51. The first step pulley 54 and the third step pulley 56 being an odd-numbered step for speed reduction and the second step pulley 55 being an even-numbered step for speed reduction are rotated around different center axes of rotation (a rotating shaft 43 and a rotating shaft 44). The first step pulley 54 being the odd-numbered step for speed reduction and the third step pulley 56 being the odd-numbered step for speed reduction are rotated around the same center axis of rotation (the rotating shaft 43).
