PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which judges whether or not the image forming apparatus is installed in an appropriate place and which gives warning to a user to urge the user to move the installation place when the image forming apparatus is judged to be installed in an inappropriate place like a place against the wall. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an interior temperature detecting sensor and an outdoor temperature detecting sensor, and an engine controller which judges whether the difference between the detection results on the basis of the detection results by the interior temperature detecting sensor and the outdoor temperature detecting sensor, and controls print operation on the basis of the respective judgment results. When the difference between the respective detection results by the interior temperature detecting sensor and the outdoor temperature detecting sensor is judged to be the prescribed temperature or above (S104, YES), the engine controller temporarily stops the print operation (S105), and reports that the installation place of the image forming apparatus is inappropriate (S106).
